Post #69(a) - Warfare (Always Fighting)

Warfare (Always Fighting)
By: Erika Henderson

Hands up and head downcast
Whispering murmurs
Unintelligible and misunderstood
Eyes swollen. Heart racing.
Fighting.
The battle is not mine?
Then why am I fighting?
Laboring?
This is warfare.

Pacing to and fro
Or fallen to my knees
Spitting scriptures and proclaiming promises
Sweat pouring. Head pounding.
Fighting.
The battle is not mine?
I've been assigned
Charged.
This is warfare.

Head covered
Chest protected
Hands clenched
Belt tight
Feet shod.
Fighting
Praising
Praying
Worshipping

Standing firm. Stand my ground.
Always ready
Always fighting.
This is warfare!
